Who We Are
Clinvet is a global veterinary contract research organization (CRO) that conducts in vitro, preclinical, and clinical trials to evaluate animal health products’ safety, metabolism, and efficacy.
We also offer field and laboratory pesticide efficacy testing to the chemical and public health industries.
Clinvet is part of the Clinglobal group – an animal health-focused group of CROs dedicated to supporting innovation and product development.
With a wealth of research experience, Clinvet has supported leading global animal health companies, small and medium-sized companies, and start-ups with their research and development programs since 1999.

Public Health Research
We propose the following types of studies for rodenticides, pesticides, and repellency products typically used by the general public:
- In vitro testing
- Insecticide testing
- Repellence testing
- Rodenticide testing (both laboratory and field)
Studies are conducted according to appropriate guidelines (e.g., EU TNsG for PT 18 and PT 19; DAFF Guidelines for the Registration of Household Agricultural Remedies; WHO Guidelines; EPA OTTP Guidelines and OECD Environmental Directorate Guidelines).
New models can be developed on request.
In Vitro & In Vivo Screening
In vitro assays include contact and repellency bioassays and artificial feeding models and systems.
Contact assays (like LPT, LIT, and AIT) and repellency tests use direct exposure of the parasites to an active ingredient, either in solution or on filter paper, glass, or other materials.
In artificial feeding assays, systemic compounds can be tested by allowing blood-feeding ectoparasites (like sandflies, mosquitoes, and ticks) to feed on treated blood or another media across a synthetic membrane or by allowing endoparasites to move through a medium and assessing their behavior.
Small animal models against ecto- and endo-parasites are also feasible.
Production Animal Models
Clinvet sites and our partner sites perform research projects on numerous parasites and infectious diseases affecting bovine, ovine, caprine, swine, equine, and poultry. These projects are conducted in the field or within containment facilities in Africa and the USA. Depending on the biosafety requirements for the specific pathogen, animals can be housed in up to ABSL2+ facilities.
Visit our list of research models through the link below, and contact us for any models of interest that are not listed. We will be more than willing to develop these in partnership with our customers.
Companion Animal Models
Clinvet has developed parasitic and infectious disease models to conduct studies in the field or our containment facilities in Africa or the USA. Depending on the biosafety requirements, animals can be housed in groups or individually in up to ABSL2+ facilities.
Visit our list of research models through the link below, and contact us for any models of interest that are not listed. We will be more than willing to develop these in partnership with our customers.
Haemoparasite, Arthropod & Helminth Breeding
